Violations of a Protective Order (criminal court) or Restraining Order (civil court) are felony offenses with very serious consequences. If a Court issues a Protective Order or Restraining Order, the law requires that the accused surrenders any weapons (gun, pistol, revolvers) in his/her possession within 24 hours to local law enforcement authorities.
