Attorney Wilson worked as a Police Officer in the City of Stamford for 16 years and earned a reputation as a hard working and dedicated officer. As a police officer he was well known by citizens and officers alike for his innovative methods and relentless pursuit of justice on behalf of the citizens he served. Attorney Wilson attended law school at night while working as a police officer, graduating from University of Bridgeport School of Law in 1992.

Attorney Wilson retired as a police officer in 1996 opening the Law Firm of Gary J. Wilson LLC, focusing on juvenile delinquency and abuse and neglect (DCF) and criminal defense. He is certified as a Child Welfare Law Specialist by the State of Connecticut (CCPA) and nationally by the National Association of Counsel for Children (NACC). Due to his dedication, interest, and experience working on behalf of juveniles, he served as the first Chairman of the Juvenile Law Committee of the Greater Bridgeport Bar Association. He currently serves as a special public defender for the State of Connecticut in juvenile matters, and has represented hundreds of juveniles in this capacity earning a fine reputation in the legal community as a zealous advocate for his clients.

Attorney Wilson has experience in other areas of law including real estate (sales, purchase, and refinancing), family law (divorce and child custody cases), personal injury (motor vehicle accidents, slip and fall), and worker’s compensation claims.
